If your car won’t recognise its own key, the immobiliser system usually needs reprogramming, not a whole new engine control unit.
We reprogram the immobiliser and key rather than replacing the whole control unit.

The same expertise applied across every vehicle type we service.
We reprogramme keys and immobilisers so you avoid the cost of replacing your engine control unit unnecessarily.
Modern car keys carry a small chip that communicates a unique code to your vehicle’s immobiliser and engine control unit. It is a sensitive piece of electronics, and it can stop working for a number of reasons: water damage, physical damage, or simply age. When it fails, the car will not recognise the key even though the key itself looks and feels fine.
Auto Key Services provides professional immobiliser key programming, generating new transponders that work with your vehicle’s existing immobiliser and engine control unit, rather than requiring you to replace either of those far more expensive components entirely, whether the vehicle is a car, a pickup or a motorcycle used for daily work.
The chip inside an immobiliser key is small and, being electronic, more fragile than the metal key blade around it. A hard drop, exposure to water, or simply years of daily use can damage it to the point where the car’s computer no longer recognises the code it is meant to be reading.
We provide immobiliser programming for a wide range of popular manufacturers, including Honda, Nissan, Jeep, Jaguar, Hyundai, Infiniti and Acura, among many others commonly sold and serviced across Uganda’s used-import vehicle market, whether the fault is recent or has been building for some time.
Rather than replacing your vehicle’s entire immobiliser control unit or engine control unit when a key stops being recognised, in most cases we can generate and programme a new transponder that talks correctly to the existing system, at a fraction of the cost and disruption of a full component swap.
This approach works across cars, trucks and motorcycles, and covers both a straightforward lost-key replacement and a more involved case where the original key and control unit have simply lost synchronisation with each other over time or after a repair elsewhere.
We bring a genuinely broad level of experience to immobiliser work, having handled it across cars, motorcycles and a wide range of key types and manufacturers, which means we recognise most faults quickly rather than working through them from scratch each time.
We use the equipment each job actually calls for, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, and we keep a customer service team on hand to answer questions, take bookings and follow up on any concerns after the work is done, so you are not left chasing us.
Calls are answered 24 hours a day. Tell us the make, model and year, and we will tell you what we can do and what it will cost.
The chip inside the key, or the immobiliser system itself, may have failed or lost synchronisation. We can diagnose which it is and reprogramme accordingly, usually without replacing any major components.
Usually not. In most cases we can reprogramme a new transponder to work with your existing immobiliser and engine control unit, avoiding the cost of replacing either component unnecessarily at all.
